Hyper Active Hound Class

For those who experience stress or anxiety with their dogs out in public.

Learn new techniques to better control, communicate, understand, and lead your dog in public.

Hyperactive Hound is a six week class conducted every Sunday, outdoors, in Williston VT. This class is intended for dogs at least 1year in age who may be reactive to their environment or want to improve social skills. This years class will be starting mid June. Specific dates are to be announced soon. limited spots are available. We want to continue growing our awesome, supportive community and we need YOU. Each class will be one hour long. Before the first class you will receive a syllabus and reading material that is required to read.

Head trainer Wyatt Bright will be teaching you techniques and practices to take home and hone until the following week. Every class we will be progressing onto something new, so it is important to do your homework! There will be a Facebook page to post homework videos and ask questions. Not just our trainers are here to help you. This community is built on a network of dog owners who share the same love and compassion with ability to share experience and knowledge of their own.

Week 1: INTRODUCTION. Getting to know one another. Learning body language, energy, dog psychology, communication, and how dogs perceive their world different from ours. Also what motivates your dog the most.

Week 2: LEASH CONTROL AND BOUNDARIES. To be a responsible dog owner you must learn how to use the leash responsibly and set boundaries.

Week 3: ENERGY. Here we will practice different exercises that teach us to control our own and our dog's energy.

Week 4: POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT. This is a crucial aspect of keeping your dog focused and obedient. learning how to teach behaviors such as leave it, recall, and a sharp awareness of their name.

Week 5: POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT CONTINUED. Here we will follow through with our positive reinforcement training behaviors.

Week 6: THE FINAL TEST. By now, hopefully both you and your dog will be comfortable within the group. It is time to spread our wings and venture to new territory for a group walk. At a local, nearby park we can practice all of our new skills and understanding of dog psychology in real world scenarios.
